A 1981 graduate of the University of San Carlos, Guatemala School of Medicine, Dr. Giron relocated to the United States to further his training. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Berkshire Medical Center and his residency in nephrology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He established his medical practice in Amarillo in 1993.
